After the performance of running back Jamelle Eugene during the spring game, it is easy to see why NC State would be eager to sign the next top prospect from Eugene's old school, Naples, Fla., High.

Defensive back Junior Petit-Jean has an offer from NC State after making 37 tackles and nine pass break ups as a junior.

"They offered me last month," Petit-Jean said. "It was kind of surprising. They have a great team. Jamelle Eugene was up here recently and telling me how much he likes it.

"I was also considering going to their summer camp. I think it's later this month."
