Auburn offense lacking the big plays
Auburn's offense has struggled to produce big plays all season, especially in the passing game.
Quarterback Brandon Cox's longest touchdown pass of the season went for 34 yards, on a play where Rod Smith caught a 10-yard pass and eluded an Ole Miss defender for the score.
While many coaches stress the importance of stretching the field, AU's offense operates within a 20-yard box.
"I thought we threw the ball a little better deep last year, a little more successful," said AU head coach Tommy Tuberville. "It just hasn't been there this year, haven't been able to get it done. We've worked on it, done it in practice.
"I think it would be interesting to go back and look and see how many times we've thrown it deep."
