The third annual Nor Cal Tip Off Classic will be held Saturday November 28, 2009 at Newark Memorial High School in Newark.

The event is designed to promote/showcase Northern California basketball to college coaches, media/scouts and the general public.

There will be seven games on the day beginning at 11:00 am. (See schedule below.) High profile programs such as Castro Valley, Newark Memorial of Newark, Oakland High and St. Joseph's of Alameda will be featured. The event will culminate with the marquee matchup at 8:30 pm between St. Mary's of Berkeley and Sacramento High.

Top Prospects Will Be Participating

Approximately twenty Division I prospects will be playing in the event. There are currently five student-athletes that have committed to Division I schools that will be participating: 5'8 senior Travon Abraham of Sacramento High (Rice), 6'4 senior Dominique Lee of St. Mary's (Utah), 6'3 Jackson Carbajal of Buchanan of Fresno (Sacramento State), 6'0 junior Dominique Taplin of Oakland (Santa Clara) and 5'8 junior T.J. Taylor of Oakland (Santa Clara).

Seniors of note include: 6'3 Jackson Carbajal of Buchanan of Fresno, 6'4 John Green of Castlemont of Oakland, 6'4 Khion Sankey of Newark Memorial of Newark, 5'8 Travon Abraham of Sacramento, 6'8 Will Davis of Sacramento, 6'4 Dominique Lee of St. Mary's of Berkeley, 6'3 Demetrius Lee of St. Mary's of Berkeley.

Prominent juniors are 6'2 Deveraux Manley of Castlemont of Oakland, 6'0 Rodrick Bobbitt of Castro Valley, 6'6 Juan Anderson of Castro Valley, 6'3 Chris Read of Castro Valley, 6'0 Dominique Taplin of Oakland, 5'8 T.J. Taylor of Oakland, 6'3 Josiah Turner of Sacramento, 6'10 Robert Garrett of Sacramento, 5'7 Jacari Whitfield of St. Joseph's of Alameda, 6'9 Brendan Keane of St. Joseph's of Alameda, 6'0 Robbie Herndon of St. Patrick's-St. Vincent's of Vallejo and 6'3 Noah Springwater of University of San Francisco.

Highly regarded sophomores are 6'2 Alex Fertig of Buchanan of Fresno, 5'11 Casey Norris of Newark Memorial of Newark and 6'2 Glenn Baral of St. Mary's of Berkeley.
