Top 60 Game: Blue 69, White 66

Martez Harrison (University - Kansas City MO) had 12 points, 3 assists and two key plays in the final minute to lead his Blue team to a 69-66 win in the first of two All-Star games at the conclusion of the 2012 Pangos All-American Camp at Cabrillo HS in Long Beach.

The score was tied at 64 when Harrison took a pass from Imara "I.J." Ready Jr. (Parkview - Little Rock AR), scored and was fouled; his good free throw made it 67-64 with 36.7 seconds left. Then Harrison stole the ball near midcourt and fed Julian Jacobs (Desert Pines- Las Vegas NV) for a lay-up to make it 69-64 and clinch the win for the Blue squad.

The Blue team jumped out to an early lead with a 10-2 spurt thanks largely to the pesky defense of Ready, who had 4 steals in the first few minutes. The lead reached 13 points at 21-8 after a jumper by Paul Watson (Paradise Valley - Phoenix AZ) midway through the first half.

The White team rallied, however, closing the gap to two points at 30-28 at halftime and tying the game in the first few seconds of the second half after a steal & lay-up by Geno Thorpe (Shaler - Pittsburgh PA). The game remained tight down the stretch and was still tied in the final minute before Harrison spurred his Blue team to the win.

In addition to Harrison, Kevin Zabo (Montrose Christian - Rockville MD) had 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Bear Henderson (Alemany) had 9 points, and Ready had 8 points, 2 assists and 6 steals. Johnathan Wilkins (La Lumiere - La Porte IN) had 4 points, 4 rebounds and a game-high 5 blocked shots.

For the White team, Ja'Quan Newton (St. John Neumann - Philadelphia) led all scorers with 14 points on 7-for-10 from the floor. Alex Foster (De La Salle - Chicago IL) had 10 points and a game-high 8 rebounds. Hunter Myers (Douglas - Minden NV) had 9 points on 4-for-4 from the floor while adding 4 rebounds and 3 blocked shots.
