The Second Annual Joseph Frazier Benefit Showcase took place September 30th at Calabasas High School, raising money and spirits for the injured Calabasas assistant coach and former CS Northridge standout. Many of the top teams from the San Fernando Valley and beyond were on hand for a great day of basketball for a great cause.

Here is the fourth of seven free game reports on the event:

4:15 pm: Pacific Hills 74, Oaks Christian 60

Jahmel Taylor scored 23 points and Namon Wright scored 20 as Pacific Hills survived an amazing start to the second half by Oaks Christian to post a 74-60 win Sunday at the 2nd Annual Joseph Frazier Benefit Showcase at Calabasas HS.

Pacific Hills jumped out to a 14-5 lead in the game's opening moments, and led by nine points several times in the first ten minutes. Oaks cut the deficit to four points at 26-22, but Pacific Hills answered with a 7-0 spurt to take a 33-22 lead, and pushed the advantage to 38-26 after a 3-pointer by Marcus Jackson in the final seconds of the first half.

When the second half started, however, it was Oaks who heated up, making its first 11 shots of the half, the first ten without committing a turnover.

Back-to-back 3-pointers by Grant Gustavson sparked the rally, which saw Oaks Christian take a 44-42 lead on a 3-point play by Tyler Harris and push the advantage to as many as eight points at 50-42 after the sizzling 24-4 run.

After that, however, Pacific Hills recovered, answering with a 22-4 run and holding Oaks Christian to just ten more points the rest of the way. Jackson tied the game at 54 with another 3-pointer with 5:40 left, and then hit another three to give Pacific Hills the lead about 25 seconds later. A 3-pointer by Adam Plax made it 62-54, and Taylor made two free throws to make it 64-54 and assure Pacific Hills of the win.

Taylor finished with 23 points, making 12 of 12 free throws in the second half, and added 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Wright had 20 points, including 3 threes, and 6 rebounds. Jackson had 17 points, including 3 threes, plus 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

For Oaks Christian, Jordan Flannery came off the bench to score a team-high 16 points. Gustavson had 13 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists, and Anson Moye had 12 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. K.J. Smith had 8 points while dishing out a game-high 7 assists.

Oaks Christian started the 2nd half with a 24-4 run, making its 1st 11 shots, to lead, 50-42.
Pacific Hills answered with a 22-4 run to re-take the lead and pull away.
Obviously there were no foul-outs in this game.
