Berkeley takes the headlines from Wednesday's action with a win over Kennedy-Sacramento in a rematch of the 2012 NorCal Division I final. The first round also saw a big game from USC bound post Drew Edelman and a solid road win for Alameda.

Division I

Gunn beats Galileo 44-30
Berkeley beats Kennedy-Sacramento 53-40
McClymonds beats Armijo 68-60
Heritage beats San Benito 63-40
Lowell beats Oakland Tech 63-50
Oak Ridge beats Amador Valley 57-48

Quarterfinal match-ups: Gunn at Monte Vista, Berkeley at McClymonds, Lowell at Heritage, Oak Ridge at Wilcox

Berkeley went on the road and beat Kennedy-Sacramento in a Top 20 matchup to continue their title defense in Division I. McClymonds was able to come back against Armijo and Oak Ridge beat Amador Valley, who was the No. 2 seed in the North Coast Section playoffs. In a wide open division, Monte Vista, Berkeley, Heritage and Wilcox make it an all-Bay Area semi-final.

Division II

Dublin beats Chico 48-41
Montgomery beats Pleasant Valley 54-42
Alameda beats McNair 56-42
Presentation beats Del Oro 57-49

Quarterfinal matchups: Dublin at St. Francis-Mountain View, Montgomery at Florin, Alameda at Lynbrook, Presentation at Clayton Valley

Alameda posted the most surprising result with a 14 point win over McNair, which has spent time in the NCP Top 20 this season. Presentation picked up a win for the West Coast Athletic League with Dublin and Montgomery getting victories against Northern Section competition. The favorites should move on this Saturday, which means wins for St. Francis, Florin, Lynbrook and Clayton Valley.

Division III

Kennedy-Richmond beats Branham 69-54
Campolindo beats Placer 62-47
Christian Brothers beats Paradise 67-37
Enterprise beats Eureka 77-57
Modesto Christian beats Burlingame 48-34
Vanden beats Encinal 67-43

Quarterfinal match-ups: Kennedy at Sacred Heart Cathedral, Campolindo at Christian Brothers, Modesto Christian at Enterprise, Vanden at St. Ignatius

All six games were decided by double digits, including three wins for the Sac-Joaquin Section, two for the NCS and one for the Northern Section. Christian Brothers is the one team who could upset one of the top four while Enterprise comes into NorCals with one loss. Go with Sacred Heart Cathedral, Christian Brothers, Enterprise and St. Ignatius in the quarterfinals.

Division IV

Sacred Heart Prep beats Anderson 67-45
Menlo beats Moreau Catholic 55-40
Argonaut beats West Valley 47-42
Marin Catholic beats Colfax 52-40

Quarterfinal match-ups: Sacred Heart Prep at Salesian, Menlo at Bear River, Argonaut at Piedmont, Marin Catholic at Bradshaw Christian

The Northern Section took two losses in this bracket with Sacred Heart Prep beat Anderson and Argonaut defeating West Valley. Drew Edelman, bound for USC, had another big game of 28 points and 13 rebounds for Menlo while Marin Catholic remains one of three NCS teams alive. Salesian is the clear top team and easily moves on this Saturday followed by Menlo, Piedmont and Bradshaw Christian.

Division V

Capital Christian beats Urban 54-42
Turlock Christian beats St. Francis-Watsonville 63-59
International beats Weed 61-32
San Domenico beats Ripon Christian 44-39
Pacific Collegiate beats Durham 71-52

Quarterfinal match-ups: Capital Christian at Eastside Prep, Turlock Christian at International, San Domenico at Pinewood, Pacific Collegiate at Valley Christian-Dublin

Pacific bound shooting guard Halie Bergman (Turlock Christian) and junior 4-star point guard Morgan Green (Pacific Collegiate) are two of the best players in this bracket and moved onto the quarterfinals on Wednesday. International, which has beaten Turlock Christian this year, also moves on with a win over Weed and will host Turlock Christian on Saturday. Winners in Division V will be Eastside Prep, International, Pinewood and Valley Christian.
