  • Preview of Our Fab 4 Games for the Weekend
  • Tesoro at Mission Viejo on Friday.
Tesoro heads to Mission Viejo on Friday looking to accomplish a feat a South Coast League team hasn't accomplished since 2008: beat Mission Viejo. The 6-1 Titans derailed an undefeated 10-0 Diablo team that season and are looking to do so again against this year. Mission Viejo (7-0) seems to be steamrolling to another 10-0 season, as they have won their last 4 games by an average of 38 points. Tesoro sophomore quarterback Devon Modster will see the best defense he has seen in his young career. San Jose State commit
Ian Fieber leads a balanced Diablo offense headlined by running back Alex Suchesk and Modster's older brother Sean, a senior wide receiver committed to Boise State.

    The Pick: Mission Viejo

  • Orange Lutheran vs. Servite at Cerritos College on Friday
The third playoff berth from the Trinity League could be on the line Friday when Orange Lutheran heads to Cerritos College to play Servite. The Lancers surprised some by leading St. John Bosco at the half before faltering in the second half. Luke Langdon leads a 3-headed Lancer rushing attack from his quarterback position. He will need an efficient game with his arm as he faces an always stout Servite defense. Travis Waller's dual threat ability gives Servite a chance in every game, he was the difference in Servite's win over Santa Margarita and gave them a chance late in a loss to Mater Dei.

    The Pick: Servite

  • Canyon Country Canyon at Valencia on Friday
Canyon travels to Valencia in a game of two 2-0 Foothill League teams with hopes of being 3-0 for an upcoming game with undefeated Hart for the outright league championship. Two of the Santa Clarita Valley's best quarterbacks face off, as Valencia's Jake Wallace and his 2101 yards and 19 touchdowns opposes Canyon's Cade Apsay, a Colorado commit who has thrown for 1823 yards and 17 touchdowns.

    The Pick: Canyon

  • South Hills vs. Charter Oak at Covina District Stadium on Thursday
The last real test for Charter Oak, who is on pace for a 5-0 Sierra League Championship, is Thursday when they face their City of Covina rivals, South Hills. The Chargers have won 3 straight games behind the strong connection of quarterback of Kory Brown and wide receiver Donovin Washington. The duo connected 14 times for 213 yards in last week's win over Chino Hills. South Hills running back Adam Goss has been a workhorse on the ground for the Huskies. They are aided by senior offensive weapon Alex Powell, who recently became eligible following his transfer from Charter Oak in the spring.

    The Pick: Charter Oak
