Can't say enough good about this 6-1 guard, a really cool 7th grade kid. Period.

He's respectful, intelligent, kind, yet fierce on the court. Brandon Perez of Heritage Christian Core Prep middle school is as tremendous person as he is a baller.

Where does he play, you say? This 7th grader has been playing for the 15 and under Paul Pierce Nike EYBL The Truth Team.

B-Perez recently took an unofficial visit to a Big West program and is on his way to an unofficial visit to a PAC-12 program later this month. Through it all this kid may be one of the most humble and hard-working kids I've ever witnessed. Really.

Brandon is proud of his Puerto Rican and Salvadorean roots as he says, "I'm proud to have visited the home countries of my parents' ancestry. I enjoy seeing historical sites and I feel lucky to travel all over the United States on my AAU team, getting to play the game I love."

This a Dope, dope kid.

B-Perez has trained a lot with Taylor Statham of Ball Out and with Brian Kimble. Here’s what Statham has to say, "Brandon comes from a tight knit family, which explains his level of maturity. His game and mindset approaching each day is well beyond his years.

“His game is so efficient - NBA range, great 1/2 dribble pullup. Plays with a smooth poise and is never sped up. Has a tremendous work ethic. I only put him in workouts with my college guys and he's always challenging them."

I'm extremely impressed to see Brandon training recently with elite world class NBA trainers AJ Moye and Keion Kindred. I've seen the sweat pour from this young man's face. He works hard and is a sponge to those who are guiding him.

Off the court he’s a 4.0 student, enjoys his math class the most, and reads for fun a lot. Brandon's father Luis Perez says of his son, "Education comes first in our household, something we instill in our son. The work ethic of excelling in school will prepare him for high school and college. The work ethic naturally rolls over to basketball for him."

I can't say enough good about Brandon's father, a great family man who cherishes the opportunity to support his boy.

B-Perez is a big fan of the NBA Cavs team, as Lebron James is his fav player. Brandon enjoys wearing Kyrie Irving shoes and is a budding sneaker head Fosho, just like me.

I see Brandon play often and this terrific rap Get it Poppin song by Fat Joe comes to mind and these lyrics flow as I watch Brandon ball:

"And the dj playin that song

Now watchu gon do

I'm gon get get get it poppin

Watchu gon do

I'm gon get get get it poppin."

Yup, can't say enough good about this 7th grader Brandon Perez who volunteers to train kids age 5 through 9 every Monday.

That's the kind of cool kid he is, as special a person as he is a baller.
