Battle of the Valley 3-pt Shooting Contest

At halftime of the girls Battle of the Valley game there was a 3-point shooting contest. Here are the results, as Kiana Gray (Monroe) emerged as the winner with a dazzling display of accuracy from behind the arc.

3-Point Shooting Contest:Kiana Gray (Monroe) made 19 three-pointers in a minute in the final round to edge Whitney Branham (West Ranch) in the 3-point contest at halftime of the girls' game in the 2014 Battle of the Valley.
In the event, each shooter had one minute in which to make as many 3-pointers as possible. Branham finished first in the preliminary round, making 16 of 31 attempts. Gray made 15 of 27 attempts to join her in the finals, edging Kali Vittallo (Canyon) by one basket by making her final shot attempt.
Dynn Leaupepe (Camarillo) was the fourth contestant, but she had just 10 makes from her 26 attempts.
In the final, Gray went first and made 19 shots, giving her 34 baskets from 59 attempts (58%) in two minutes in the two rounds combined.
Branham nearly matched her first-round total with 14 makes, but that total was well short of Gray's winning score.
