Titus, who participated at the Stanford NIKE Football Training Camp this past spring, was reportedly confronted by two youths about the status of his relationship with a female when one of the youths shot Titus twice in the leg. Early reports indicated that Titus could identify the assailant, but it's unclear if the two individuals or the female are Narbonne students. The incident reportedly took place during summer school sessions at the South Bay campus.
It was initially reported that Titus was shot near the knee and that doctors feared he may lose his leg, but an MRI revealed that the piercing bullets did not hit any major arteries or break any of Titus' bones. Although witnesses and Titus reportedly can identify the shooter, authorities have been unable to locate the assailant at the present time.
Last school year, Titus rushed for 1,335 yards and gained another 470 yards receiving for a Gauchos team that finished the season 10-3. He scored 25 touchdowns last fall and the 5-foot-6, 165 pound Titus also shined at the NIKE Camp in Palo Alto, recording a 32.0 inch vertical jump and a 4.31 20-yard shuttle run.
The Cal-Hi Sports, Student Sports, and CaliforniaPreps family sends its best wishes for his speedy recovery to Travon and his family.
