Say No Classic Report

The Say No Classic, America's premier summer college league, got underway this past weekend and numerous recent prep standouts were in action, as usual. Three-time defending champion Hank's Top Prospects was among the winners on opening day Saturday at LA Trade Tech.

Hank's Top Prospects 84, West Coast Hoops 74Jordin Mayes (Westchester/Arizona) had 20 points and Deonte Burton (Centennial-Compton/Nevada) had 19 as Hank's Top Prospects began its title defense with an 84-74 win over West Coast Hoops.
Solomon Hill (Fairfax/Arizona) had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners, and Dwayne Polee (Westchester/St. John's/SD State) had 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocked shots.
Shawn Hampton (Pasadena CC) led West Coast Hoops with 16 pts, while Jordan Mackie (Dorsey/Nevada), Alex Osborne (Pacific Hills/Loyola-Marymount) and Dillon Biggs (Dorsey/Hawaii) each had 14 points.
I Can All-Stars 69, Salvatori's Squad 61Larry Anderson (LB State) had 24 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the I Can All-Stars to a 69-61 win over Salvatori's Squad in the day's opening game. Salvatori's Squad led 40-28 at halftime, but I Can outscored the Squad, 25-9, in the third quarter to take control of the game.
Marcus Richards had 15 points and DeAngelo Scott (Lynwood/AZ Western) had 14 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Byron Wesley (Etiwanda/USC) led Salvatori's Squad with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Greg Allen (Navarro/USC) had 13 pts and Alexis Moore (Long Beach Poly/USC) had 10, while Larry Drew Jr. (Taft/North Carolina/UCLA) had 9 points and a game-high 8 assists.
Hank's Toros 62, Salvatori's Spirit 51Next, Van Girard (Gahr/Cerritos CC/CSDH) had 14 pts and Cornell Jenkins (Chaffey CC/CSDH) led Hank's Toros, a team of players from Cal State Dominguez Hills, to a 62-51 win over Salvatori's Spirit.
Jerime Anderson (Canyon-Anaheim/UCLA) led the Spirit with 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals. Dane Suttle (Westchester/Pepperdine) came off the bench for 9 points.
Hank's Buzz 69, Jump Fitness USA 51In the next game, the Taft trio of Bryce Jones (USC/UNLV), Stephen Maxwell and Spencer Dinwiddie (Colorado) led Hank's Buzz to a 69-51 win over Jump Fitness USA.
Jones had 20 points, Maxwell had 14 and Dinwiddie had 12 plus 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals for the winners. DeShawn Stephens (Santa Monica/SD State) had a double-double for Jump Fitness with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Salvatori's Future Stars 73, BTI 52In the nightcap, Erik Dawson (Birmingham/LA Trade Tech) had 16 points and was one of four players to score in double figures for Salvatori's Future Stars in a 73-52 win over BTI.
The Wear twins (Mater Dei/North Carolina/UCLA) combined for 28 points and 11 rebounds, with David accounting for 15 points and 5 boards and Travis registering the other 13 points and 6 rebounds. Justin Cobbs (Bishop Montgomery/Minnesota/Cal) had 13 points and a game-high 9 assists.
Hector Harold (Pepperdine) led BTI with 15 points, while Kenyatta Smith (Flintridge Prep/Harvard) had 13 points and 6 rebounds.
