Tony Goodwin II is a 6-5 junior that coaches appreciate because of his Kawhi Leonard-like defense. Stick him on the best scorer, he'll steal your cookies, trap you up, mash you down. But wait, Tony is realizing he needs to polish his offense to get with high major offers.

#dope dreams

Man, this Bethesda, Maryland native has been on the grind, ballin for Findlay Prep in Nevada and putting it down for the Belmont Shore AAU squad. But as I got to know this kid, I see his fantastic work ethic coming out.

He speaks on it, "When I play I feel tons of energy on the court, but now I'm working with my trainer, ex NBA player Jerome Williams and he's helping me get more fluid offensively. I'm confident I'll get that scoring skill set going on, to compliment my defense."

E-Woods, why you think this kid can play?

Goodwin is a cousin of all time U of Maryland great Len Bias, who would've been a majestic Celtic, so it's in his blood to ball.

Tony has posted big games recently for the Jerome Junk Yard Dog Williams team, going for 24, 30, and 40 points in Belmont Shore spring league ball. Seems like if T-Goodwin saves his energy for offense, he's gonna be a problem on both ends of court Fosho.

What makes you believe this kid got the chops E-Woods?

Been hearing that USA Today is calling Tony one of the nation’s top defenders and that ESPN’s Joel Francisco says this kid is one of best ball stoppers around. Highly respected Dinos Trigonis says Tony is that "Tough, relentless defender." One of America's Premiere Defenders.

I've asked around about T-Goodwin a ton. Insiders say he has this crazy crazy work out schedule. Hear Goodwin say just how intense it is, "I was proud to be named MVP at the Kobe Bryant Camp at age 10. I learned self motivation by competing hard every possession.

“I mimic Kobe Bryant’s work ethic. I’m up at 3:00am I'm in the gym by 4:00am to 6:00am back at it 9:00am to 11:00am and back again at it 2:00pm to 4:00pm and last workout of the day 7:00pm to 9:00pm."

#dang son, that's dedication Tony's dad is that caring dude that supports his boy. He told me a touching story where his young son at age 4 had asked who Michael Jordan was.

Let Tony senior speak on it, "Tony came down the stairs asking me who MJ was. I explained that Jordan's game was the best because he put so much work into it. We took Tony to the MJ camp where Jordan said, 'Everybody wants the gift but they don't want to work for it.'"

Tony Goodwin II was proud to be name MVP of the Michael Jordan Camp at age 10 years old.

Now you see, from the gritty courts of Maryland comes this cool kid on a mission, inspired to show he won't be outworked. TG is on that fire grind, dude is worth knowing and writing about.

Cuz T-Goodwin's defense is already 100, his work ethic 100, now he's just working on his offense game to be 100.
