Four players scored in double figures for Calabasas as the Coyotes capped the 5th Annual Joseph Frazier Benefit event with a 59-54 win over defending Division IV state champion Crespi Sunday after noon at Calabasas HS.

The now-annual event is staged each September in honor of the popular Coach Frazier, who had just begun a promising coaching career on the staff of Calabasas HS following his playing career at Muir HS and Cal State Northridge when he was critically injured in a car/motorcycle accident in the summer of 2011.

Sunday, Calabasas led virtually all the way, but had a rough time pulling away from a Crespi team that was without recent USC commit De'Anthony Melton and standout sophomore Brandon Williams.

The Coyotes led by as many as 13 points in the first half, but saw that advantage dwindle as the second half progressed.

Crespi pulled within three points at 41-38 and finally tied the game when Mitch Mykhaylov scored on a fastbreak with just under two minutes left, evening the score at 52-52.

But Calabasas went back in front moments later when Kevin Seyedan scored off a high-low pass from Spencer Mittin, and Jack Roggin added a three off an inbounds play to push the Coyotes' lead to 57-52.

After a 2-point free throw by Crespi's Taj Regans brought the Celts back within three at 57-54, Andrew Schreibmann hit a baseline jumper with 17.2 seconds left to make it 59-54 and clinch the win for Calabasas.

Zach Favaedi led Calabasas with 13 points, and he also had 5 rebounds. Seyedan had 12 points and Roggin came off the bench for 12 points on 4 three-pointers as well as a game-high 6 assists.

Jonah Camberg had 11 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocked shots, all in the first half.

For Crespi, Regans had a game-high 21 points, including 5 three-pointers. Mykhaylov had a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Devin Rojo had 12 points, including a pair of threes, and 3 assists.
