Who is Mook Harris? - he's that dope baller the hoop world been sleeping on. But this humble yet confident rising junior is fixing to break out and unleash drives to the rim so hard, you'd think he's Russell Westbrook's younger brother.
Mook is striving to be a 5-star prospect before it's all said and done. No doubt.
Seeing this young tiger is like deja vu all over again for me. I wrote about Mook's older brother Dash Harris Jr who starred at Texas A&M a decade back. It's in Mook's blood to "straight out go."

Hear the pride as Mook speaks on his big bro, "I remember the excitement of traveling to watch my brother play vs. Kansas and Sherron Collins back then. That experience woke me up and made me realize it was my destiny to be like my brother.
“So I switched from skateboarding to balling outdoors at Ladera Park in Inglewood vs. grown men back then. I'm driven to follow in his footsteps, ready to accept that challenge.”
Mook is a big 6-2 athletic guard, a handful and a problem. How to best relate his game: he's a bad boy on the court Fosho, having a killer instinct and very explosive at the rim.
Example of how he do? Ask Sierra Canyon, cuz Mook this past summer delivered the dagger win over SC who was led by Cassius Stanley and KJ Martin Jr.
That game showed Harris could run the show, close the deal, as he rose up on his quick release jumper and set the plate all game long.
Russell Westbrook is Mook's idol because he tears out the juggler of his opponent and Mook is on a mission to rip throats out too. He balls like Eric B and Rakim rapped, cuz he "ain't no joke."

Ask him to define his success next year and he'll tell you, "I'm really excited to be at St. Bernard, where I'm also striving to be a better student. It'll mean a lot to show the hoop world we can be play on the big stage.
“I want to be that spark for us, emotionally challenge our guys, be more of a vocal leader. That's my biggest goal next year because our team is intent on winning a league chip and then going onto state."

Mook's St. Bernard coach Mitch Runco is blown away by his star as he says, "His ceiling is incredible, he's a supreme athlete. He's driven by his top notch work ethic. The amazing thing is that his basketball IQ is starting to catch up to his athletic ability. I just can't say enough great things about him."

Me E-Woods, I asked a few other elite guards to describe Mook recently and they all came back saying he's that dude who’s hard to guard, he plays both ends, he’s that lock down defender. Props. 100.
Drew Hanlen's Pure Sweat Basketball handles pros like Bradley Beal and Andrew Wiggins, and Kelly Oubre. Mook has been putting in that "pure sweat" with dope trainer Sam Limon who serves under Hanlen's expert regimen.
This shows just how serious Mook is, as Limon states, "Mook is progressing with a chance to be one of the best point guards in the country. He's quick in transition and does a lot of things great.
“We're working on the technical aspects of his game to get him to an elite level - like his footwork to get into his shot, making the right reads off the pass. He's just committed to being the best."

Who really connects to give Mook advice?: Big bro Dash Harris Jr. who speaks on how his brother will live out his potential, "My brother has so much going for him. He's more athletic than I was, his shot is further along than mine was at the same age, and his defense is very aggressive.
“Plus the training he's getting is at a whole other level than I experienced. The key for Mook to achieve his potential is to be that vocal leader, motivate his teammates, be an extension of the coach on the floor. If he gets to that level by being that kind of leader, he could be that special player fosho."

All indicators are there. Mook could be that extremely sought after prospect. He's already hearing from the Pac-12, ACC, and SEC. He's that ultra rare mix of athleticism, skills, and pinpoint training that makes a player one's best version of themselves.
That's what Amani "Mook" Harris is shaping up to be now, that dude who takes the throat of his opponent, one game at a time.
